Ourika Valley (Group Excursion)

For our day trip to the Ourika Waterfalls and Valley, we will pick you up around 9:00 AM from your accommodation in Marrakech.

During our journey to the Ourika Waterfalls, we will explore the lush valley and visit several small Berber villages along the way. The drive from Marrakech to the Ourika Valley is a scenic 1.5-hour route through the lower foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. You will witness the landscape gradually changing from a bustling city to a rugged, colorful wilderness. Along the way, we pass villages where you might have the chance to buy freshly baked bread from a Berber woman using a traditional oven.

The Ourika Waterfalls are located in the Berber village of Setti Fatma, at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, 1500 meters above sea level. Seven waterfalls cascade down the slopes above the village. Here, you can choose to take an optional guided hike with a local guide, lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

The first part of the hiking route is a gentle climb, passing souvenir stalls and traditional Berber “fridges”, where drinks are cooled by the flowing river water. The second part of the hike requires a bit more climbing over rocky terrain, where the help of your guide will be invaluable.

Tip: Wear comfortable hiking shoes.

If you prefer not to hike, you can relax in the village cafés. In good weather, you can even sit at a table in the river and enjoy the refreshing surroundings.

Optional: Along the way, we can stop for Moroccan tea or lunch with a Berber family. You’ll be welcomed into their home or terrace with stunning views, where you can enjoy traditional Moroccan tea and a delicious tagine meal.

At 5:00 PM, we will drive you back to your accommodation in Marrakech, concluding a memorable day in the Ourika Valley.
